What is Dream Big?
Inspired by ASCE National’s documentary film in partnership with MacGillivray Freeman Films, Dream Big: Engineering Our World, we created the Annual ASCE CSULB Dream Big: A K-12 Civil Engineering Outreach Event as our own Student Chapter's K-12 Outreach event to encourage young students to pursue a career in Civil Engineering.
On December 1st, 2018, we held our very first event and hosted over
300 K-12 students from across Los Angeles and Orange County to the CSULB campus! We shared the wonders of civil engineering through various workshops, team building activities, laboratory tours, a professional panel, and of course, streaming the Dream Big movie itself!

An Award Winning Program
In recognition of its impact to local K-12 students, the Orange County Engineering Council (OCEC) recognized CSULB ASCE's Dream Big as the 2020 Outstanding STEM Program. With the goal of "Designing the Present, Building the Future," the program provides students a personalized engineering adventure! A unique learning experience through a hands-on, interactive event designed to inspire young minds to thrive and find their passion in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
